| Sacrament PreparationAll students beginning preparation to celebrate a sacrament are expected to be regularly attending weekend Mass and religion classes through either the parish or school.
St. Mary parish policy is that students must be attending religion classes one full year before and during the year of celebrating a sacrament. Families who Home School need to contact the Pastor or the Director of Religious Education.
School-age children who have not been baptized are to be enrolled in regular Religious Education in addition to receiving additinal insruction on the sacraments.
First Eucharist is celebrated in second grade. Preparation will include regular attendance of religion class, a parent information meeting and a parent/child workshop.
First Reconciliation is celebrated as a group in 4th grade. Preparation includes regular attendance of religion class, a parent meeting and a parent/child workshop.
Confirmation is celebrated in tenth grade. Preparation includes regular attendance of religion class, a parent meeting, Candidate/Sponsor activity, diocesan sponsoered Youth event (Jamboree), service project, and Confirmation Retreat. |
